This review focuses on the diagnosis and management of intestinal ascariasis in vulnerable communities, where the burden of the disease is disproportionately high. Despite advances in diagnostic tools, such as ultrasonography, which provides a non-invasive, rapid, and effective modality for identifying intestinal worms, significant challenges persist in these regions due to limited healthcare infrastructure and socioeconomic constraints. lumbricoides highlights the need for prompt diagnosis and intervention, as delays can result in complications like gastrointestinal obstruction and systemic health deterioration. Ultrasonographic findings, such as tubular structures with echogenic features and anechoic canals, have proven reliable for early detection. Case studies, such as pediatric patients from underserved areas, underscore the importance of integrating advanced diagnostic approaches into primary care settings. Effective management includes anthelmintic therapy.
Febie Irsandy Syahruddin ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 10 1 1 8 10.24929/jik.v10i1.3841 Attitude Of Medical Personnel On The Implementation Of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) In Dental & Oral Hospital of Bhakti Wiyata Health Sciences Institute (RSGM IIK Bhakta) Kediri https://ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/JIK/article/view/4006
This study explores the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at RSGM IIK Bhakti Wiyata Kediri, focusing on medical personnel’s attitudes and the factors influencing adoption, such as knowledge, training, and support. Qualitative research was conducted through structured interviews with four informants (two dentists and two dental nurses) who had experience using the EMR system based on the Health Information Technology System (HINTS) application. The findings indicate that EMR has improved healthcare efficiency by enhancing patient data access and supporting better coordination among medical personnel. However, challenges such as slow internet connections, unstable servers, and occasional system errors hinder its full potential. Resistance to EMR adoption, primarily due to inadequate training, was also noted. Although most medical personnel expressed positive attitudes towards EMR, concerns regarding data security, including potential breaches and input errors, were significant. The study recommends addressing these issues by enhancing network infrastructure, improving server reliability, and providing more comprehensive training and technical support. Additionally, periodic system evaluations are suggested to ensure its effectiveness. These improvements are essential for increasing user confidence and optimizing EMR’s contribution to healthcare quality at RSGM IIK Bhakti Wiyata Kediri, supporting the broader digital transformation of healthcare in Indonesia.
Aulia Nuur Ainayah Sukadiono Sukadiono Pipit Festi W. ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 10 1 9 17 10.24929/jik.v10i1.4006 Effectiveness Of Non-Nutritive Sucking and Murottal In Reducing Neonates' Pain Response To Needle-Related Medical Procedures https://ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/JIK/article/view/4112
Neonates are newborns up to 28 days old who are highly vulnerable to infections and organ system disorders, often requiring medical intervention. One of the most common medical procedures performed on neonates is needle-related invasive procedures, such as intravenous catheter insertion and blood sampling, which can cause pain. Neonatal pain management generally avoids the use of pharmacological analgesics due to their various side effects. Therefore, effective non-pharmacological methods, such as Non-Nutritive Sucking (NNS) and Murottal therapy, are needed. This study aims to determine the effects of NNS, Murottal therapy, and their combination on reducing neonatal pain responses during needle-related medical procedures, using a quasi-experimental post-test only control group design. This study was conducted at Lamaddukelleng District General Hospital, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, specifically in the perinatology ward from August to October 2024 with a sample size of 92 people. The results indicate that the combination of NNS and Murottal therapy is the most effective in reducing neonatal pain responses during needle-related medical procedures, with an average pain response of 3.78 and a significance value of P > 0.001, compared to neonates who received a single intervention (either NNS or Murottal) or those in the control group.
Andi Hafidzah Qurani Salsabila Fendy Dwimartyono Andi Millaty Halifah Dirgahayu Lantara Muhammad Wirawan Harahap Andi Husni Esa Darussalam ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 10 1 18 32 10.24929/jik.v10i1.4112 Thoracal Thoracic Spinal Anesthesia In Mammae Tumors Excision Surgery https://ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/JIK/article/view/4046
Thoracic spinal anesthesia (TSA) is a regional anesthetic technique where the local anesthetic is injected into the thoracic subarachnoid space. It provides rapid onset of sensory and motor block, with segmental anesthesia suitable for surgeries in the thoracic and upper abdominal regions. Compared to general anesthesia (GA), TSA offers various advantages, including hemodynamic stability, decreased stress response, and superior postoperative pain control. We present a case of a 46-year-old female undergoing excision of a left breast tumor under thoracic spinal anesthesia at the T6–T7 level. The procedure was completed successfully without complications, and the patient reported satisfactory intraoperative and postoperative experiences. TSA can be a safe and effective alternative to GA in selected breast surgery cases, with potential benefits including reduced opioid use, stable intraoperative hemodynamics, and faster recovery.
Rina Yuliana Yulis Andi Husni Tanra Wirawan Harahap ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 10 1 33 40 10.24929/jik.v10i1.4046 The Relationship between Clean Water Facilities and Latrine Use with the Incidence of Diarrhea in Toddlers in KB Bagan Percut Village, Percut Village, Deli Serdang https://ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/JIK/article/view/3529
Diarrhea is an environmental-based disease, the factors that cause this disease are influenced by clean environmental sanitation and the use of latrines, because if these two facilities are contaminated, there is a risk of being infected with diarrhea. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of GERMAS education on student behavior and knowledge. A quasi-experimental framework with a single group pre- and post-intervention evaluation was adopted in this study. The research sample was STIKes Bhakti Mulia students totaling 40 respondents. The experimental variable in this research is education, the dependent variable in the study is the behavior and knowledge of students. Measurement was carried out using a questionnaire that had been confirmed to be valid and reliable. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The research results confirmed that there was an effectiveness of GERMAS education on the behavior (p=0.000) and knowledge (p=0.000) of students. The conclusion of the study is that healthy behavior during adolescence can reduce the risk of chronic diseases in adulthood. Behavior and knowledge must be comprehensively owned by adolescents on several health issues, including nutrition, environmental health, infectious diseases, and health problems.
Liya Ni’matul Maula Ahmad Wasis Setyadi Astri Yunita ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 10 1 49 54 10.24929/jik.v10i1.3386 A Implementation Of Fulfillment Of Personal Hygiene Needs In Elderly Dementia In Social Institutions Tresna Werdha Budhi Mulia 01 Cipayung East Jakarta https://ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/JIK/article/view/4304
Elderly or elderly is a term commonly used for someone who is starting to enter the final stage of development.
