Abstract

This research was conducted based on the problem that were found in the teaching and learning process on the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 2 Ketapang that is lack of the media usage to help the teaching and learning process. The purpose of the research is to investigate the effectiveness of powerpoint and picture card on the students learning outcome of chart and LKS in classification of living organism. The method used in this research is quasi experimental with non equivalent control group design. The tool of data collecting was written test in the form of multiple choice. The finding shows that the mean score of experimental group (15,55) is higher than the mean score of control group (12,21). The contribution of the use of powerpoint and picture card as the media in teaching and learning process is 32,64%.
